Eligibility Criteria & Priority

The recruitment is open to sportsmen and women who have achieved excellence in recognized sports disciplines during the period between 2020 and 2024. The selection follows a strict order of priority:

  1. International Level: Athletes who represented India and won medals (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in the Olympics, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, SAF Games, or Asian Championships.

  2. National Level: Players who represented the Kerala State/University teams and secured top three positions in Senior National Championships, National Games, or All India Inter-University Championships.

  3. New Categories: As per the 2026 amendment, achievements in the Khelo India University Games, Commonwealth Championships, and Asian Championships are now valid for appointment.

  4. Special Disciplines: First-place winners in State Senior Championships for Mountaineering and Kalaripayattu are also eligible.

Important Amendments to Note

The Kerala Government has recently relaxed certain norms to support the sporting community:

  • Expanded Events: More international and national competitions have been included in the eligibility list to ensure more athletes benefit from the quota.

  • Doping Policy Revision: Previously, involvement in doping led to permanent disqualification. Under the new rules, only the specific competition and the official punishment period will count as a disqualification. Other clean achievements by the athlete can now be considered for the job.
