- Ancient Port: Historically, Chaliyam and the surrounding region (Kadalundi-Beypore) were part of the ancient maritime port of Tyndis, a major trade center between the Chera dynasty and the Roman Empire.
- Chaliyam Fort: The area is noted for the ruins of the historic Chaliyam Fort, which was constructed by the Portuguese in 1530 and later famously besieged, captured, and demolished by the Zamorin of Calicut’s forces in 1571.
